Night creeps unto
And darkness ensues
My soul pushes outward
All my thoughts are renewed
My fingers touch the piano keys
Melody rings into the air
The moon shrinks into its
Frost and bone white glare
I hear nothing but the music
Of ghosts and those unborn
He who loved and left the scars
For the heart to softly adorn
I sing into the night
Minutes and hours tick, tick on
Night knows no morning
When the heart pours
Its untold song
And when the sun wins, it rises
My soul sinks inward again
The patterns of its mournful
Heart do forever extend
Love belonging in the night need not
Now be declared
With only the starlit piano keys
Can such we be rightfully paired.
