In the 64th minute, however, he failed to restore Argentina’s lead. His spot-kick to Hannes Halldorsson was caught by Iceland’s goalkeeper.

Argentina’s Sergio Aguero scored the goal of the game in the 19th, dodging a defender and firing a powerful left-foot shot. Alfred Finnbogason of Iceland tied the score four minutes later with a volley.
Iceland’s Emil Hallfredsson and the legendary Lionel Messi collided during the group D match.
Despite having only 25 percent possession, Iceland created several first-half chances and successfully defended against Argentina’s offense in the second half.
